The figure is beautifully crafted with superb details. She is clothed in a simple, long pleated sampot and belt, with tiny curvy folds at the hem. This is typical of the lyrical Banteay Srei style. The inner rims of the ears are scalloped and two indented beauty lines mark the neck.
On the front of her Chignon can be seen a Stupa. This symbolises the perfection of Wisdom. Prajnaparamita was considered the mother of all Buddhas.
Prajnaparamita was greatly revered by the Khmer during the tenth century and was the only Buddist Goddess praised in contemporary Khmer inscriptions.
Prajnaparamita stands, loose mounted, on a simple wood block.
The head of Prajnaparamita is loose but 'pegged' to sit securely on her body. A metal rod holds the head and body together.
