An antique Laos style bronze seated and enthroned Laos Meditation Buddha.
The Buddha is enthroned and seated in the Dhyana mudra or 'Meditation Position'. The hands in Dhyana Mudra, the hand gesture that promotes the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with higher energy.
The Buddha is seated on a large pedestal the top of which has a lotus leaf motif.
The lotus flower represents the attaining of enlightenment and the ultimate fulfilment that follows. This symbol is heavily used in Eastern religions, which is why it can appear as both a held item or a seat.
