This holy trinity naturally carries great importance, as the maintenance of the universe and world as we know it relies on its existence and balance. It may seem confusing, then, that the debates around who is the most powerful Hindu god traditionally neglect Brahma as an option.
The many variations of Brahma are fitting with the evolution of his characteristics over time. Throughout many centuries, interpretations of Brahma have come and gone, some which highly enshrine him, and others which diminish him as a lesser god of Hinduism.
Brahma was responsible for the creation of the universe and all its creatures. Alongside this, he is considered to be the god of knowledge and of the Vedas (ancient texts.)
Many Hindus argue that without Vishnu, the universe would fall into complete disarray, which undoubtedly renders him the most powerful given the world as we know it relies on his authority.
Vishnu's preservation of the balance of good and evil and the power that comes with this are truly communicated through his various depictions, be it what he holds in his hands or the other beings with which he is shown.
