Antique Majaphait Style Bronze Javanese Rama - Avatar of Vishnu - 35cm/14"
Measures (Height) 35cm/14"
An antique Indonesian style Rama in 13th century Majapahit style. The Seventh Avatar of Vishnu, Rama, The Prince And King Of Ayodhaya.
His bow and arrow indicates his readiness to destroy evil. He is also called Shri Rama. Rama is stood on a lotus flower decorated base. He wears a richly bejewelled dohti and upavita. His face has a serene gaze.
Upon his head he wears a decorative Javanese style tiara in front of his Kirita-Makuta or tall conical crown. This symbolises control over Positive and Negative attitudes. On his forehead he has a third eye or urna. He has an aquiline nose and elongated earlobes with large earrings. The Rama has perfect balance and proportions.
The casting is beautiful as you can see in the fine details of the bow. Each detail is rendered perfectly. The distinctive azurite and malachite patina of the piece is also particularly delightful.
The sculpture provides the perfect traditional in appearance Rama to bring serenity and timeless style to your home, office or sacred space.
