Indonesian (Java) Buddhas in 13th century Majapahit style seated in the Meditation mudra or hand gesture.
The Buddha is seated in the Dhyana mudra or 'Meditation Position'. This hand gesture promotes the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with higher energy.
The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. The peaceful countenance of Lord Buddha exudes harmony.
This magnificent Buddha is seated upon a double lotus flower which is itself sat upon on a decorated square pedestal. This symbolises the purity of Buddha. His robe is draped to leave the right shoulder bare, and a portion of the garment that covers the left wrist falls behind the figure.
The lower hem of the robe comes all the way down so that the under-cloth or skirt is completely covered.
The Buddha is backed by an aureole with a beaded border and flaming rim, topped by a Temple Guardian finial. This circle of light symbolises his divinity. A parasol covers his head.
He also has a third eye or urna on his forehead symbolizing the ability of Buddha to see past our mundane universe of suffering.

Large and/or fragile pieces requiring palletising, specialist crating and/or extra packaging may take a little longer. Palletised shipments will be delivered curbside.
All orders over 35 GBP will be shipped free of charge.
