  • Buddha Statue - Antique Chinese Style Seated Bronze Amoghasiddhi Buddha - 34cm/14"

    Measures – (Height) 34cm/14”

A Chinese style Amoghasiddhi Buddha seated in the Teaching and wish-fulfilling pose.

The perfect Buddha for those looking for infallible success or the vanquishing of jealously and envy.

Lord Buddha is seated in the full lotus position, the same as when he sat under the Bodhi tree. His robe is draped to leave the right shoulder bare, and a portion of the garment that covers the left wrist falls behind the figure. The lower hem of the robe comes all the way down so that the under-cloth or skirt is completely covered.

The large ushnisha protuberance on top of his head symbolises his high level of spiritual development. He holds his hands in the wish-fulfilling mudra: his right hand facing down and the palm outward.

The Buddha's left hand is raised in front of his chest in the dharmachakra mudra. In sanskrit dharmachakra means the 'Wheel of Dharma'. This mudra symbolises one of the most important moments in the life of Buddha, the occasion when he preached to his companions the first sermon after his Enlightenment in the Deer Park at Sarnath. It therefore denotes the setting into motion of the Wheel of the teaching of the Dharma. In this mudra the thumb and index finger touch at their tips to form a circle. This circle represents the Wheel of Dharma, or in metaphysical terms, the union of method and wisdom.

His serene face displays down cast eyes, a single arched eyebrow and aquiline nose. The Amoghasiddhi Buddha represents the accomplishment of all action.

His name means 'Infalliable Success". Meditation on Amoghasiddhi Buddha vanquishes envy and jealousy, two often impulsive actions.
