Shariputra & Maudgalyayana are noted as Buddha's chief disciples. Shariputra, known for his supreme wisdom and Maudgalyayana, know for his extraordinary perfection and supernatural powers.

Handcarved from Teak with a red gold gilt both are wearing their ritual cloistered robes. Their eyes look up in referent worship whereas their perfect oval faces are lightened by the serene joy of meditation.

These 19th century sculptures are outstanding by their workmanship, their material, their richness and the emotion and the serenity that they radiate. Given their age no obvious damage exists. Note - The dimensions given below are for each piece. Our price is for the pair.

Material: Wood Dimensions (HxWxD): 39cm x 23cm x 30cm
