After the death of his first wife Queen Jayarajadevi, Jayavarman VII married her sister Indradevi. These two women are commonly thought to have been a great inspiration to Jayavarman VII particularly in his unusual devotion to Buddhism, as only one prior Khmer king was a Buddhist. Has King and Consort they improved significantly the power of the Khmer empire and oversaw construction of the great temples of Bayon and Ta Prohm at Angkor.

This bronze sculpture is provided with a unique aging to the piece. The applied patina is representative of antique pieces that can be viewed in National Collections throughout the world. However, as a reproduction it does not impact the historic legacy of the country by removing National Treasures from their original environment.

The piece is designed and crafted by hand. Our ability to purchase these remarkable objects direct from local villages and workshops ensures that much needed funds are invested in the local community and not be profiteering middlemen.

Note - As with all of our products these pieces are made by hand. As such the actual shipped piece may differ slightly from the above picture. Please contact us for pictures of the actual piece to be shipped if this is a concern. All of our pieces are very beautiful.
